Tourney head scratcher

Blinds are 800/1600. Everyone folds to the button who throws out a raise. Small blind folds, big blind looks at his cards and asks how much? I go out and stack up the chips and say 3200( min raise) he folds. Anyone else see the point here? What is the point of asking how much if you are going to fold to any raise? It was a min raise. Were you hoping he didn’t throw out enough for a raise so you can limp? Doesn’t seem like much but slowing down the game and making me count out the (huge) raise. It’s ok, I will live. But I did roll my eyes.

Asking to hear the raise is a great way to hear the number so you can calculate the odds. Plus, sometimes some players will throw in an angle of hiding a big chip in their bet, hoping the big blind thinks it’s just a minimum raise.

There are many reasons that the player asked. You shouldn’t be too concerned. You are getting paid no matter what.

It really has no effect on my life. It was an observation of the pure stupidity of some players, and of the people that comment. So I will be concerned about whatever I want and you can go back to being a douchebag.
